January 2 - January 31
  • Agricultural Use Appraisal applications mailed to property owners who purchased agricultural property prior to January 1st
  • Residential Homestead Applications mailed to taxpayers who purchased a home prior to January 1st
  • Business Personal Property rendition forms mailed to all businesses

February

February 15
  • Real estate appraisers begin reviewing, analyzing data, and finalizing values for Notices of Appraised Value
  • Business Personal Property (BPP) appraisers begin reviewing renditions and data collected during field inspections
February 28
  • Mapping/GIS completes setup of new land records for new plats and re-plats, filed as of January 1st

April

April 15
  • Real property Notices of Appraised Value mailed
  • Deadline for filing Business Personal Property (BPP) Rendition forms and requests for rendition extensions
April 16
  • Informal review process begins for real estate owners, or their representatives that have scheduled an in-person informal meeting and/or filed a timely, active protest. All informal meetings and communications with owners, or their representatives, will be conducted via in-person, written or online communication.
April 30
  • Deadline for filing these applications or reports with the CAD:
    • Most exemption applications
    • Agricultural Use Appraisal applications
    • Requests for separate listing of undivided interests
    • Notice that property is no longer entitled to an exemption

  • Deadline to file a Notice of Protest on real property (if May 15 falls on a weekend, or legal state or national holiday, the deadline will be the next business day)
  • Deadline for filing Business Personal Property (BPP) Rendition Forms that were granted extensions
  • Business personal property (BPP) Notices of Appraisal Value mailed (estimated date)

  • Appraisal Review Board begins protest hearings (or first Monday after Real property protest deadline, whichever is later)

  • Last day for Appraisal Review Board (ARB) to approve appraisal records
July 25
  • Last day for Chief Appraiser to certify the Appraisal Roll to each taxing unit
July 31
  • Last day for business personal property owners to apply for a September 1st inventory appraisal for next year (Sec 23.12)

  • Planning and data collection begins for next year's appraisal project
August 30
  • Last day for Appraisal Review Board (ARB) to approve appraisal records, if the Board of Directors postponed the deadline from July 20

  • Last day for property owner to give written notice of correct mailing address to the CAD for tax bills
